Break out your best Moustache
It's November and that means Movember!
We’re just over a week into Movember and starting to see some excellent mustaches. November is a big month every year - not only Movember, it is also Alberta’s Family Violence Prevention Month. Not to mention that later this month is Men &’s 2nd anniversary!
With all of this top of mind, well-being is certainly key and this week we’re sharing five articles from the archives that can help in different aspects of your life.
If you’re growing a mustache or enjoying our content, we’d love to hear from you. Hit reply and let us know how you’re doing this November and what plans you have to wrap up 2023.
Now, on to those articles!

Sleep is something many men know they need but don’t get enough of. Whether because of a busy work week or the constant juggling of life’s obligations, sleep can often become a lower priority. Before you make neglecting sleep a habit, however, make sure you are aware of how sleep can directly affect your physical and mental health.
Human-animal relationships are extremely strong and there’s no denying that pets and mental health go hand-in-hand. According to a Harris poll from 2015, 95% of pet owners, regardless of their age, consider their animal to be a family member. Pets bring joy to children, teenagers, adults, and elders alike, and as a result, pets and mental health are inextricably linked.
A common response people have when asked what they want to focus on or improve in marriage or couples counselling is often communication. While this might seem to be a reasonable goal, the term is so general and broad that it is neither descriptive nor helpful. As a counsellor, you’re left wondering if by “communication” they are referring to active listening skills, conflict resolution strategies, assertive statements, non-verbal communication, etc.? In truth, they may be referring to all of the above.
Embarking on a journey toward health and wellness often starts with understanding the basics of nutrition. This “Nutrition Guide for Men – keeping you healthy from the inside out” is designed to help men navigate through their nutritional needs, providing them with comprehensive insights into maintaining a balanced diet.
Sometimes, when you take your body to the mechanic they tell you that it’s falling apart and there’s nothing you can do about it. Even if you’ve done everything right – get the oil changed regularly and keep your dashboard polished – you still might hear that your vehicle is going to be difficult (and costly) to repair.
The perks of referrals: help us spread the word.
